Studio Ypsilon
Studio Ypsilon is a leading Czech theater in the heart of Prague, with a significant influence on the development of contemporary theater. In 1963, it was founded by Jan Schmid, who is still the head of the company as well as the style and poetics director, as an independent experimental theater group. Studio Ypsilon is an auteur scene that has earned a leading place in the performing arts world thanks to its visuals, as well as musical repertoire, often performed live by actors and musicians. The theater’s method of creating is through collective improvisation. Blending humour with detachment, it forms an essential part of the nature of this ageless theater.
