King Lear
The division of an aging monarch’s kingdom among his three daughters results in unforeseen consequences. With Lear’s very life hanging in the balance, he loses everything that defines him as a king, and thereby discovers the essence of his own humanity. The remarkable cast portrays the struggle of aging parents, children preying upon their inheritance and all those caught in-between. “A superb production in its own right, delivering every element this great dark dramatic poem by Shakespeare has to offer” (Toronto Star), winner of the Canadian Screen Award for Best Performing Arts Program.
