Philippe Genty

Philippe Genty is a French puppeteer. Originally trained as a graphic designer, he began his career with a trip during which he discovered puppetry. Philippe Genty established his own company in 1968, having performed at the Bobino, Olympia, and Casino de Paris music halls. His regular creations for the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris were followed by highly successful world tours and brought a new dimension to his artistic production. Philippe Genty continues to immerse himself into fantasy worlds, with a strong penchant for journeys into individual psychoses and the subconscious. A creator of different manipulation techniques, he has been using puppets for the manipulation of space and perception, and movements of materials and forms to create fantastic illusions.
