The Mašín Brothers
This Dramox exclusive show presents Milan Šteindler and Jan Slovák in a surprisingly funny production from Na Jezerce Theater, which does not force an opinion but presents available historical facts with amusing exaggeration. During a theater rehearsal, five actors literally play with the controversial story of the Mašín brothers who put up heroic armed resistance against the communist regime in Czechoslovakia between 1951 and 1953. They discuss their artistic reasoning, argue their viewpoints and search for inspiration on how to portray Ctirad and Josef today. Miluše Šplechtová observes everything from afar and, in the words of Zdena Mašínová, brings the audience closer to the time when the Mašíns were trying to win their freedom.
