Hedda Gabler
The heroine of one of Ibsen's most performed dramas took quite a beating from the critics at the time of the play's release, with some even calling her a devil. The story of a married woman who longs for inner freedom and self-empowerment but is consumed by a boring life in a small-town remains relevant years later. Young Slovak director Tomáš Procházka staged a Norwegian drama in the Horácké Theater, in the atmosphere of David Lynch's films. He makes the audience think: how many of us play roles expected by society at the expense of our own freedom?
